     Time is a concept we live with though we do not grasp its power. Embracing the ability for difference and change over time can relax the present self. With grasping time one can see an evolution in and around them.


     Courtney Calabrese is an American representational mixed media artist working in large format. With usage of acrylic and oil paint along with oil pastels, colored pencils and markers. Her mixed media pieces exemplify her expressionist subject matter. The pieces all reside in self theory of what certain feelings, relationships, encounters or life situations would be if represented. A lot of the work follows patterns of entrapment, lack of self free will and theories of addiction. The concept of what life is is usually where her brain goes first. Through her representational and expressionist style her work becomes a feeling for the viewer to experience as well.
