The role of an American woman has changed. In 1950, women's place in society was to stay home and take care of the family. Women were expected to follow their husband’s orders. Some women had the privilege to go to school but were often pressured to go into careers that showcase how to be a great housewife. The role of women has changed for the better and women are now portrayed as strong and courageous individuals.
