Michael Ferraris, “What constitutes an Original piece of art?” (Vincent van Gogh series), Oil Painting, 8"x10"

I can use the topic of copying art and how other artists in the past have copied art to go on to create masterpieces of their own. If we look for inspiration to previous artists and their artwork, what is considered or not considered an original piece of artwork and how have previous artists justified that or drawn that line that their artwork is an original piece of art.

Michael Ferraris is a 21 year old visual artist working in painting and digital. The subject matter of his work explores the areas of constituting an original piece of artwork through his interpretation towards Vincent van Gogh.
